After he switched from HR to Advertising, he worked with a number of local and multinational advertising agencies for over two decades. Some of his key clients were: Sri Lanka Telecom, Fonterra, Clipsal/Orange, Lanka Wall tile, Lanka Milk Foods and Toyota.
He ventured out on his own 15 years ago and established a Public Relations and Marketing Communications Consultancy concentrating on internal communications, stakeholder relations and communications research. Through his own venture, he has worked as a consultant for many local & global FMCG companies, hospitality industries, Education academies, INGO’s, and Public Sector Boards.
In addition, he has worked as a Qualitative Research Consultant /Coordinator on number of research projects that were carried out for the Marga Institute (SANEI -South / Asia Network of Economic Agencies, IOM -International Organization for Migration, World Bank, and National Languages Project, Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training), Third Wave Internal, Bahrain (Bahrain Labour Market Reforms Authority, Viva) and Survey Research Lanka.
Currently, he is gaining valuable, stimulating and multi-faceted experience working with Civil Society Organizations (Public Service initiatives) as well as the Private Sector on marketing communications and human resource development assignments. He is also a writer and Blogger on social issues, marketing, and internal communication.
He is presently the Consultant /Chief Executive Officer and the Administrative Director of the Master’s programme on Development Studies and Public Policy (conducted in collaboration with the Open University of Sri Lanka) at the Marga Institute – Center for Development Studies.
