Brief info

Dharshan has a wide spectrum of knowledge across various strategic spheres covering Leadership, Concept development, Financial & Economic analysis, Strategy development, Branding and Project implementation.

He is also a public speaker on topics related to Leadership, Project Management, Marketing, IT/BPM industry trends, Start-ups and Skill development for employment.

 

He started off his career as an Export Executive at MACKWOODS handling end to end functions including purchasing, production, sales, quality certifications, overall management of Organic products deriving a revenue of $10M and developed new products valued at $1M. Post working for 3+ years at Mackwoods, he joined Brandix Intimate Apparel/Brandix Essentials as a merchandiser managing the accounts such as DIESEL, VS-pink and VS Direct handling functions such as Procurement, Operations and Marketing for bulk and sample orders valued at over USD 100MN.

 

Changing paths in 2010, he took a new career development goal into the education business and was appointed as the REGIONAL MANAGER for MEMBERSHIP AND THOUGHT LEADERSHIP at CIMA managing development of around 2000 members and Management Accounting related thought leadership projects for over 12000 students and 1000’s of key stakeholders and potential clients. There, he led a team handling member development related training, & took the initiative to Conceptualize and implement National projects like the CIMA Business Leader’s Summit and pioneered in setting up the CIMA Case study awards, CIMA national SME development workshops and the first local Management Accounting Conference.

 

After his 4 year tenure at CIMA, he was offered the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR position at SLASSCOM where he Led a team which was managing projects for development of the local IT /BPM industry for global industry branding, national start-up ecosystem development, employment and entrepreneurial skill development and was responsible for increasing SLASSCOM’s cash position by 400% during his tenor whilst engaging with 180 member companies to drive national ICT sector revenue of USD 5 billion, 200000 jobs and 1000 start-ups by 2025. His involvement in strategic business development projects locally and overseas for the sector supported its growth to USD 1 billion in 2016 increasing by 25% during his 2.5 year tenor where the number of tech start-ups were at 400.

He then moved as the DIRECTOR- ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL•PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP) UNIT,MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND MASS MEDIA & led a team of experts in financial and Economic value for money evaluation of PPP projects in industries such as waste management, energy, transport, leisure, tourism, water, mineral sands, robotics and biotechnology. Under his leadership the Ministry attracted foreign investment projects valued at USD 5.6 billion in 6 months which were approved by the cabinet for ministerial implementation.

 

He now works as the COO at 3rdwave Consulting (Pvt) Ltd, overlooking Rs.200 million worth of Business and leads Strategic Marketing for 3W General Education which represents over 100 top universities globally.
